A Daughter's Football Game with her Dad...First, let me say I know nothing about football. Nothing except root for the home team. It was probably the first game I had watched in a few decades. But when my Dad called and said he was coming over to watch the Redskins game on my TV, that meant I was watching football.
I got the basics straight. My Dad has been eating healthy so I had healthy snacks. We munched on air popped popcorn, peanuts, watermelon slices, and a crockpot with a few delights.
But what I really got right was to sit there and watch and listen and let him enjoy the one thing that is his favorite thing on the planet next to his family and his dog and his work. The Skins are in with him. I thought of all the great things he has done as a Dad and for three hours I scrapped the paperwork and the housework and enjoyed him enjoy is favorite pastime.
It was interesting to see all the Komen ribbons on the football and helmets and hats. It was interesting to see the yellow lines they would draw on the screen. The stats were cool. There was a lot of back story. It was amazing to me that one hour took three. Beats me! I wondered why they covered their mouths while talking and why there were so many boos and yahoos.
I wonder when Buyers and Sellers enter the Real Estate Game what they see and think and ask when it has been a few decades ...or their very first foray into the field. Meanwhile, the crock pot is empty, there are popcorn kernels everywhere, and this Father and Daughter had a great few hours!
