Here's a checklist for your first www.HDHat.com High Def iPAD2 Video House Tour Creation!
Blow by blow, here you go with the step by step list I scribbled down as I created my first High Definition Video for www.HDHat.com yesterday. You can preview some of their current House Tours on www.HDHatHomes.com. These High Def House Tour Videos can be created with an iPhone, Sony Camera, or iPAD 2 among other devices. The iPAD2 was my chosen route because the iPAD2 is already always with me on Southern Maryland listing appointments. My quick take was why recreate the wheel plus when I saw the finished iPAD2 version, with built in stabilizer, it was a SOLD! Solution in my book.
1. Order the roughly $110.00 iPAD2 cover with wide angle lens about a week in advance of your first scheduled House Tour. Go to www.HDHat.com to order.
2. Download THREE iPAD2 apps in advance. These are iMovie, Transfer Big Files and Almost DSLR. The last one is needed if you film darker areas so I picked my first five clips in somewhat sunny rooms that did not require the Almost DSLR application.
3. Attach the clear plastic cover with wide angle lens over the small eraser sized camera lens on the silver back side of the iPAD2.
4. Open the Camera Application. Hit the red dot to start or stop filming.
5. The goal is to film five clips that last under a total of ten minutes maximum.
6. My learning curve for best tip off the bat? Film short and sweet clips SLOWLY with lots of light. Plus, turn on overhead room lights in advance!
7. This is a virtual floor plan concept i.e. do not sweat the details.
8. Open iMovie. Then review the clips. You can shorten clips by touching them and pulling them in. Or you can double tap them to delete them from the time line. As you review them, delete them to return them back to the main area so you can keep reviewing more clips. Delete the DUD clips via trash can as you go. Swipe to the right to preview lots of clips and keep the ones that are candidates. The red center line lets you chop off sections of a clip. Tap where you want the clip to stop. Then swipe down the red line.
9. Send it to Camera Roll by hitting MY PROJECTS tab at top center.
10. Hit square icon with curved arrow.
11. Hit Camera Roll
12. Hit HD 720p. This sends to Camera Roll.
13. Open HD Video Big Transfer Files application on iPAD.
14. Sign In.
15. Remember you have to go to General on iPAD2 and then go to Location Services. Turn on Transfer Files and type in your up your Apple iPAD four digit pass code.
16. Sign In.
17. Hit the PLUS Sign Button.
18. Type in Recipient which is hdhatvideo@gmail.com. Then edit message with your name and clip number.
19. Hit Media Picker. This is camera roll. Select clip to send.
20. Hit Choose and then Send it.
