Contact Managers: Top Producer versus Agent Office...It's been the unanswered question in my Real Estate Career. My long term thinking has been that whomever owns your database owns you. So the concept of the monthly fee with 8i meant they owned me and my database. So over the years I have dabbled with it. I LOVE the CMA feature and the Market Snapshots and the Neighborhood Reports are good, too. I like the action plans and the 24/7websites for customers. But I have not switched full time. I just bring the contacts over every year or so as Plan B. They have great service, they are progressive, they are on top of it all. I I have no complaints. I have never done my mailers with them. I have not relied on the Palm for their information. BUT I LOVE the fact now that Wolfnet and Realtor.com both can dump your leads into 8i. Now that stops me in my tracks. As a RE/MAX agent, that means we can have multiple websites with Wolfnet in the background dumping into 8i and life is simple. We have just Leadstreet and 8i to manage.

I made the leap from Quicken to Quickbooks last year and what havoc that wreaked. It is hard to learn a whole new system on something this important. But,... and here is the BIG BUT....
Contact Managers: Top Producer versus Agent Office...Something is just not right. There has been no release since version 10 in years. The service fee is thrown at you on a product that has not been upgraded in years and has no plans ,when you inquire. to upgrade. With this much new technology? Plans to work with an iphone or Droid instead of the antique Palm? Nope. I am starting to rethink this. How about you? It is something i never wanted to do. But after a fresh computer wreck on Easter, you rethink stuff.
