I had a Good Experience with the Apple MobileMe Product Today!
I have been on Tech Help lines for days getting set up with new database products(s) and learning the ropes of how to use them. When I got my new iPhone and new iPAD it meant I had to give up the ghost on my old antique database system which did not support these new Apple products.
It has been a nightmare.
But one thing about it, you wake up from nightmares.
So, it boils down to this.
For two days I have been working on the Apple Mobile Me product, which takes all new Outlook contact and syncs them up to the cloud , i.e. transports your contacts with only one data entry in a "Beam Me Up Scotty" fashion to all your laptops and ipads and iphones AGAIN with just one entry. Wireless, Painless, Time Efficient, and my kind of data entry one stop shopping .
The first time I contacted the Mobile Me Support Chat Line a few months ago was very disappointing. It was the first uncool thing I have experienced with Apple. Eveything with Apple has been a ten and how they hatched this chat only support system on the most important issue of all, your database, defied gravity to me. So I was cartwheel kind of pleased when I learned today that they now offer call back on the spot tech support. So the duplication error with them is now being handled by Apple Engineers which means I can go back to being a Realtor. For a couple of days my data is in the cloud and not on my iPhone or iPad or spare laptops. But I can deal with this knowing there is an end in sight. The nightmare is about to end.
Anyway, I got great help from Mobile Me today and the decision to defect to a Mac on my next laptop purchase is getting to be a dull roar.
What else did I learn today? In the MRIS area, there is a tab at the top of the Matrix screen that lets you subscribe to a good tech email educational tool for FREE called Retechnology. It caught my eye the other day because I wanted to learn more about QR Codes now that I have an iPhone and can read them. It is a Realtor Tech Tools email subscription and MRIS in the DC area picks up the subscription for free for us.
I also learned that Constant Contact has great support. I signed up to experiment with that and Mail Chimp and geez Constant Contact called Day 1 and helped with questions. The support, flexibility, and tracking are the highlights of that product. My thoughts are while I am in Database change gear, I may as well go ahead and throw that in the mix . It will enable me to blast emails with a very user friendly, template rich product.
I also learned there are some new enhancements to 8i the last few days. They stay on the cutting edge!
I may experiment with an Outlook duplicate remover add on I saw and give it a whirl. Hopefully it does not blow up Mobile Me, my new Laptop, or anything in between. This Queen of Crash has been database bashed and needs a break.
