Good Friday is a month away...Doing something special that day? The Maryland Eastern Shore beckons on Holidays! I like to take off around 8AM from the Maryland Western Shore in Chesapeake Beach MD vicinity and head straight to the Annapolis Starbucks. Depending on timing, there may be a few moments to cruise throught the Harbour Center Barnes and Noble. Then the Harvest Bread shop is a great detour for some homemead bread hot right off the press. If not, after the Bay Bridge, there's a restaurant called Fisherman's Inn about ten minutes down Rt. 50 that has a fabulous Salmon Citrus Salad that I take on the run. Next stop, you guessed it, the Queenstown Outlets for the Eddie Bauer shop and the Coach Outlet. Then it's a mad dash to the Talbot's in Easton to see the new fashions. There's a back way to 404 toward Rehoboth I take. I love to stop in and see a childhood friend in Georgetown, Delaware. Next stop, the Outlets outside Rehoboth Beach. There's an Ann Taylor, Coach, Eddie Bauer and less sales tax. I like the Staples in that vicinity, too. Then it's hit the Boardwalk and grab some to die for Thrasher's French Fries while plopping down to enjoy the smells and sounds of the Ocean. Can't miss Browseabout Books, either. The final stop is my favorite rib joint on the planet, Nick's House of Ribs, right outside of Fenwick Island. The ride throughout the day is Beaches and Water and Breathtaking Views of nature and Maryland at its finest. Then, it's a three hour ride home and 10PM range when you hit Chesapeake Beach again. It's a ritual route a couple of times a year and right about now is when I start to smell the waves of Thrasher's French Fries beckoning from the Eastern Shore.
