How many ECards can an Active Rain post generate in one day? What's your favorite ECard Company and Why? It's my Birthday so let's try...and learn about a lot of good ECard products. It's 4AM Range on the East Coast and SNOW DAY SIX of being stranded inside with Riley Rover and SNOW up to our noses. The Green (now white) Jeep with the REMAXX tags has not been out since last Friday. With the exception of a few snow shovelers and sleigh riders at a distance, it's just been me and Riley Rover all week. He doesn't remember to sit by the door to go on our afternoon Starbucks and Panera run anymore because it's been so long that he's forgotten. I figured Starbucks and Panera in Prince Frederick MD would have sent a rescue team by now but my Cousin pointed out on Facebook that they were closed, too. I figured a posse would come as much as I go to those two places in Southern Maryland.

Well at 4AM, much to my surprise, Monique Hailer had sent a Plaxo ECard of a golden retriever puppy with a wonderful birthday message. After I finished piecing together that my birthday is on Facebook and that she has a Golden, too, then I realized how cool that she took that extra step to do this Birthday ECard for her Facebook Friends. Then I sifted through more emails and Gail Nyman had sent another ECard that was the most beautiful and touching animated prose by Blue Mountain and was a typical lovely thing for Gail to do. Both Plaxo and Blue Mountain give you the ability to send a written note back. Blue Mountain's had a dog-slurping, animated type amusing card. Plaxo let me send Monique a written note. To send a real thank you card back, you had to give credit card information for both companies but each had a 30 day free trial. The Plaxo product had breathtaking photography. The Blue Mountain had animated and amusing movement and fun. The Plaxo Card had the photo embedded in the email for instant "wow." The Blue Mountain Card had links but when you got there all the animation stopped you in your tracks. Both cards had me outdone. Plaxo has a link on the side to add your business to the Google Local Business search along with a video on how and why. This is what Bill Gassett mentioned in a recent post. Anyway, they were a complete surprise and now I realize this is a much better way to respond to Facebook Birthdays than the message on the Facebook wall approach I have been using.

No fooling, there's that much snow in the D.C. area. I call my home Mosquito Gulch. It's a winter wonderland in Mosquito Gulch and I will be here with Riley Rover for the duration of the Holiday Weekend. Just when I figured I'd have none. I guess this really caught me attention because I was on the phone with ecare@remax.net yesterday trying to import the agents email addresses in my office into Campaign Plus, an ENeighborhoods product, so I could surprise the agents and my home bound clients with cheerful Valentine's Day Cards during the snowstorm. I also saw a nice Open House invitation on this product and want to send it for my Deale "Lasagne and Look" Open House this coming Tuesday at my new listing on 6014 Allwine in Deale MD.
