How to Make a Homemade Christmas Wreath for Client Gifts or Client Parties...It's Easy. And a great way to work off that Thanksgiving Spread.
I'm going to a Friend's Farm this afternoon to roam around and trim her Magnolia, Pine, Holly, Hemlock and you name it kind of trees. They wait to trim every year until the day after Thanksgiving. Which means we get the BEST Leftovers for lunch because she is one great cook. Then we take the tractor and roam the fields. After almost 20 years of this, we have the day down to a science.
Next I pull vines out of the trees along the creek in front of my place. I intertwine the grapevine and make all size circles for the vine bases. It's very simple. I also collect Nadina Berries, dried flowers, beach grasses etc. It becomes like taking blogging photos. You pay attention to the outdoors and have your snippers (camera) ready.
Then you just stuff the clippings and dried stuff in the base. The simpler the better. Nothing artificial. Authentic old time wreaths. Then drop them off at your clients or host a Wreath Making Dinner Party and let the fun begin. My porch is piles of Wreath Stuff every year and I would not have it any other way. It is one of my favorite days of the year.
