I Remember Calvert County When...
There was an old Five and Dime in Downtown Prince Frederick.
There was a real Drive In Movie Theater.
There was an Amusement Park in Chesapeake Beach.
It was a BIG DEAL as a Kid to drive up to Chuck's for Ice Cream at night.
There was a conversation about whether you called it Calvert or Culvert County.
You could count the stoplights on one hand.
There was an old Country Store called Dixon's we could walk to at the other end of the beach that sold penny candy. YEP!
AND the best part of the year was when the family packed up everything and moved to Calvert County MD for the WHOLE Summer.
