How to transfer original iPAD settings and apps to NEW iPAD2:
I bumbled along a while and then discovered this article which gave me a lot more confidence late this evening.

I am half way through the clone part. It will just be a few minutes and then I can play with my new WORK iPAD.
Notice how I said work iPAD because Number One is about to become Number Two. It is now to become my Reader and upstairs Internet and EMail access device.
The learning curve for me? Pay attention to the Fed Ex truck at your door a day or so early. It saves a few hours of RUNNING to the FedEx Office late at night. Less smoke on the Southern Maryland Roads. Tee Hee.
Update iTunes in advance of arrival day. Update the iPAD version when requested at the same time. Back up your iPAD manually right before you clone. You can never be too safe with your data. I have scoured so many lists by this person or that on favorite apps that I would agonize over the loss of data terribly!
Whoops.....Gotta run, it is DONE. Let the fun begin.
Rats, rats, rats. The NEW iPAD2 also needs to upgrade software straight out of the box. Another few hours to go!
Entire process A to Z...maybe five hours give or take. I was not watching the clock that carefully..a.k.a I was blogging away.
Looks like TOMORROW is the day that this Southern Maryland Realtor, if she gets her say , can take time to play with her NEW iPAD2 by the Chesapeake Bay!
