If you have noticed a few posts or even more than a few about DATA backup lately, that's because it has been foremost on my mind. Actually, it is all I have done to the point of exhaustion!
It's Time to Jump Back Jack and BACK UP your DATA four ways from Sunday! The computer crash bash trash mess started Easter Sunday when I lost my user profile. It was corrupted but during the tech help attempt to correct it , the user profile was inadvertantly deleted. The only thing worse than losing your data is almost losing it. The data is all there, you just cannot access it. It's the end of the road...almost. It is one hot mess.

But then, as a result, Carbonite, my online backup service, was maybe only 75% backed up with all these changes. Not to mention I was using major hard drive space with several user profiles.
It's Time to Jump Back Jack and BACK UP your DATA four ways from Sunday! So then you know what happened before Carbonite finished backing up. Yep, when you hear me say I am a Plan C person...as in Cheryl starts with C...this is what you know you will see. The BLUE Screen. Yep, the one that lets you know you are very deep in dog poop. So again, many HP calls later and many times of being told I had to wipe out my computer in the middle of a Spring Season and start loading my laptop from scratchwith only partial data. So, I called the local computer store and then said it sounded like a video or grpahics card issue. Funny, HP had said that also while telling me to take a month of my life and reload windows and all my software. So, I called HP again and got help reinstalling the graphics or video card. I forgot to mention that because I pay for and get the super duper Business Warranty, I had just recently had a new Motherboard and other parts installed. Anyway, the graphics card may have worked. All is quiet in Mosquito Gulch. The laptop has had no more blue screens. I am not needlessly installing Windows and all my products from scratch.
But it feels like after the Civil War. It will not be the same in Mosquito Gulch. All innocence is lost as in "Gone With the Wind" lost. Carbonite is not enough. Nor are two flash drives loaded to bring over Agent Office, Quickbooks, and the top 50 docs. Nor is the upgraded NEW Retrospect. SOOOOOOooo....I am ordering the NEW Vclone beta software and the new compact Iomega drive this week. I will have a mirror image of my Main laptop that can be plugged in to any computer. Plus, it synchs back the new doc when you go back to your main computer. That plus the new ability of Carbonite to remotely access my docs anywhere and anytime are great learning curves. Am I going to be content with one mirror image? No "tomorrow is another day" attititude here. I will also do one on Retrospect also. Four ways like Four Square is my new motto. I dare the odds to get over on me now. Bow wow. Time to go feed Rley Rover his dog chow...while backing up in Southern maryland FOUR ways.
