Life can change on a dime...so how Permanent Press are you? I was at the stoplight on the way to a Speed Open House in Deale MD when all of a sudden there was a text message alert. My sorority sister and college friend and fellow Business Degree Hokie from Va Tech, whom I had not seen in a decade , text ed a few words. She was in town, within an hour or so of me, and could we meet and hook up to see "E" our friend with Ovarian Cancer? She was on her way back home to WVa after seeing a Jonas Brothers Concert at Nissan Pavillion with her teenager.
Life can change on a dime...so how Permanent Press are you? In a matter of split seconds I called her, said yes, let's meet at a place in two hours and let's head to Baltimore to Mercy Hospital to see "E." And could they spend the night so we could chatter? Mind you, this is all handled practically at the stop light in a matter of minutes.
Without a hitch, I had my hour long Speed Open House in Deale MD, ran out the door, met my friend, scooted to Baltimore MD and surprised the daylights out of "E." We walked in on the perfect day to see how well she had just learned to apply makeup at the Weinberg Center . Many smiles and much laughter later, we packed up, came home and got lots of quality time meeting and greeting her daughter. It had been so long since we had seen each other that there was a grown teenager with us!
The next joy was that I connected my friend on the phone with my Parents. She had lived with us one summer while my family operated a Beach and Marina locally. That summer, some of the kids had stacked up the picnic tables one by one and at the very top had planted my Dad's bicycle. It was more or less a picnic table throne. Over the years, MUM has been the word. My Dad has never known who stacked the picnic tables with his bicycle way up top. Anyway, decades later, and true to form. sixty seconds in to the conversation..."So who stacked the picnic tables?" became the line of conversation. But some things kids don't tell...even decades later.
Anyway,,,,thankfully, I left the house clean, was dressed up for an Open House, and had planned to do a project during that time frame that got pushed aside so we could enjoy the Chesapeake Bay on one of the prettiest Southern Maryland Days all year. Rod n Reel Breakfast Buffet is the best treat around on a weekend morning and so are all the boats and Bay breezes while there.
Life can change on a dime...so how Permanent Press are you? I decided I am pretty permanent press with no Softeners or Static Free Sheets required! It comes in pretty handy as a Southern Maryland Realtor on the run. How about you?
