You can visit the Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation (DLLR) site to view the Maryland Continuing Education Realtor Requirements or just click here http://dllr.maryland.gov/license/mrec/mreceducreq.shtml for a summary.
Several of the local Real Estate Companies have started offering Continuing Ed Classes in their offices locally.
Previously, Realtors got class hours each year by driving an hour to Hughesville MD to the Board of Realtors. Or you drove a couple of hours to the Realtor Convention in the Fall on the Eastern Shore. There is a Realtor Fair in the late Spring that offers a day of required classes, too, in the California MD vicinity.
It is fantastic that Long and Foster and Exit 1 Stop Realty are now offering Continuing Ed Classes. They are offered as Lunch and Learn kind of concepts on different days of the week. Local Realtors are invited for reasonable fees. There is a Lead Paint Class hosted by Walter Clews in Dunkirk on Thursday July 14 11AM to 2PM at Exit. Remember to sign up at www.aacar.com and also to RSVP to the Exit office. This qualifies for the Legislative 3 hours required. Plus agents need 1.5 hours of Fair Housing and 3 hours of Ethics in addition to electives to have a total of 15 hours every couple of years for License Renewal.
It's just been a few months since my May license renewal and I will almost have my clock hours finished for this two year period soon thanks to the really convenient new class locations.
