I attended an Open House QR Realtor Discussion Group event today in lieu of House Tour. I don't have to be asked twice if my favorite salad from Chesapeake Grill is served, there is a tech discussion, and the home is a beauty let alone maybe 10K below below the Builder Price and only TWO years young.
There were only a few agents so we sat at the table and discussed how 60% of the Buyers are GenX and GenY so they embrace this technology. The Quick response code concept is that you use a smart phone to photograph this square black box that transports you to a website, text area, or tour site. Tour Factory, Mobile Real Estate ID and Real Bird all have QR codes.
There is free software such as Red Laser for the iphone or Scan Life, Quick Mark, Quick Reader, Neo Reader, Optiscan and Mirascape. Make sure the site you select is ready or optimized for phone viewing. I now have a site called www.SouthernMaryland.realbird.com for just this purpose.
You can generate a QR code for free at qrcode.kaywa.com or on a url shortening ...with with web tracking...google product. You can scan tshirts, sign riders, ads, business cards etc. My thought is to put the QR code for my new www.follr.me/goldenresults digital business card on the back of some 20 buck for 1000 www.gottprint.com business cards for a HUGE win.
You can get stickers at www.zazzle.com or www.stickerscan.com.
Host your own agent luncheon and talk tech in your area! I had a great time and there was not a morsel of salad left.
Thanks, Gail Nyman, for a great lunch and some great ideas at the Gabriel Ridge GORGEOUS Open House today!
