It was a Quickbooks versus Quicken Day for this Southern Maryland Realtor! About a year ago, I swtiched from using Quicken ,which had been in place for a decade , to Quickbooks. I did not particularly want to make the switch because I had Quicken pretty well nailed after all those years. I like the way it synched to my Palm Treo. But what I did not like was that to get Bookkeeping help, this was a new product to almost anyone. It just was not mainstream enough and I was paying each person to learn it as I did. So, I migrated the Intuit data to the more advanced Intuit program, Quickbooks.
Quickbooks versus Quicken for Realtors. Well, you are on your own, Kid. The service at the Quickbooks tech help line was difficult at best. I immediately cancelled the service policy or tech help. I called in my Dad's Bookeeper SOS pronto. The migration of the data was great but the learning curve was tough. It was a rough road for sure!
Quickbooks versus Quicken for Realtors....well, today I SOS got the Bookeeper back and made major progress. We updated a thirty page cheat sheet we wrote a year ago which is the basic 101 stuff that I needed to know to jump start me on the program. I have books and video and you name it but hands on is what helped me most.
EMail me if you want a copy of my 30 page step by step notes. Maybe they will help you , too , if you need to make the Realtor Quicken to Quickbooks transition.
A Southern Maryland Realtor on the run sometimes has to do the stuff that just plain is not fun. But it's done! Yippee, back to cool stuff like showing houses and preparing my 2010 Buyer Powerpoint Presentation. And taking Riley Rover for a Starbucks or Panera Prince Frederick MD run.
