The Nate Berkus inspired Calendar Photo Idea saved me a bunch of $$$$$. I saw a show or article he did where he used photos in old calendars, framed them, and then hung them up for decorations. Okay, I'm all over this idea. There is a Sueellen Ross Golden Retriever Print called "Tailgate Party." No way and no how am I going to fork out $295 for the print plus a professional frame job of an additional few hundred. But I adore the print and I had saved the large and small calendars.
So about the time I noticed Michael's had a half price sale on all their frames the lightning bolt hit and I remembered the decorating tip. A walloping $30 or less and TWO frames later, I now have Tailgate Party in my work area two places! Check the print out for a good smile. It's a Woody Wagon opened up at the rear with a row of Golden Retrievers of all ages looking out the back. It is my kind of print. But I like my price tag way better.
P.S. Borders has calenders for a dollar now. I also purchased some clear contact paper from Michael's and used it to atttach some cool Mary Englebrite Beach Calender photos to a clear Shower Curtain for a bright, beachy look.
