The Skinny on ECards

The Skinny on ECards, after researching them and doing a few hundred for Valentine's Day surprises for family, friends  and customers while  the snow here was WAY too deep to actually go to a Hallmark store, was not so surprising. As one childhood friend put it , "I should have know it would have been Peanuts." I guess I'm that predictable. As in  a whole lifetime of being predictable! Visit www.Hallmark.com for their $9.99 a year lineup that gave dozens of my friends a big smile with lots of chuckles returned  my way. It's the  "Love Bandit" card where Lucy gets smooched by the pooch.

I also should have known the skinny on Ecards would include  the JacquieLawson.com  lineup because they are beautifully dog oriented. I have already set up some St.Patrick's Day www.JacquieLawson.com cards to be sent. It was somehow easier to start the database in Hallmark and then copy and paste it over to this vendor.

Visit www.BlueMountain.com for more personal and more lovely type sentimental, special cards. The chuckles and smiles go to www.Hallmark.com while  the animal lovers are well  handled by the  www.JacquieLawson.com cards.

My last foray was www.Plaxo.com. This is interesting because the cards embed in your email with nothing to open. You see the greeting, Presto, as you open your email! Nothing to click or do, it's just ready to view. The photos are striking and there are so many lovely selections. There is the $19.99 yearly version which is in line with Blue Mountain but more than the $13/year for Lawson. What's unique about Plaxo is for &60/year you can get the Pro version which synchs your Outlook to their online Plaxo version. In otherwords, no copy and paste...just press a button and you can send all your clients cards. Plus, your database is protected at a different site. The glitch is you cannot have over 10K names. Their tech support is very helpful.

At one point, I sent myself the card and forwarded it to clients to speed up the copy and paste routine. The best part of the process was the responses all day or two. This was really well received by my Family and Farm but who does not enjoy a chuckle or in some cases a thank you from someone who knew I hand picked the card especially for them. Not everyone wants a turtle Valentine's Day Card!

If I had to pick one, or give you the skinny on Ecards after researching ECards for several days for a few hundred folks, nope, it can't be done. It's like clothes in your closets, there are different ones for differnet occasions. Which one did I use first? Yep, Hallmark. Less snow, that's where I would go anyway! Which vendor will I use most this year....hmmm.....you know, I bet again it will be Hallmark. The Hallmark moment works for me everytime. But I like receiving all types of cards. So, we're back to the clothes in the closet analogy.
