Three Dozen years later I just found my Va Tech Friend on Active Rain...HUH?
Okay, first my hard drive crashed. Complete Funeral. So I had to load all the licenses on a different laptop and annoint that as my NEW travel laptop to replace the belly up laptop. Then Service Pack ONE would not download and it was needed for the Office 2010 license and other products. Then I changed course and got Microsoft HELP to try. Then we changed paths again and decided to install Windows 7 since no way Jose was Service Pack 2 going to install. Then, many, many Microsoft Help hours later, I was reading some Active Rain Posts in between Tech Help calls during download time. By the way, my Microsoft Tier Two Rep was sensational for day after day until Windows 7 JUST finally got installed.
Anyway, I had not seen or heard from this Va Tech friend in maybe three dozen years. I was reading the hyper local featured post about the new hyper local group. I decided to read a few that the group founder had highlighted. Then I saw the name, then I looked at the photo, then I could not believe what I thought I was figuring out. So, I did what any inquiring Active Rain blogger would do. I picked up the phone and called Steven Bachman and he answered! OMG!
He was nice then and he is nice now! We swapped a whole bunch of Active Rain tips. I have been perusing his blog for more hyper local post writing tips. He follows the Krushkas and Renee Burrows just like I do. He is a RE/MAX agent like me. He was at the same DC Rain Camp as me a few months back. Eventually we would have bumped into one another. It just took an Active Rain hyper local post to do it.
Guess who will be getting referrals in that Dulles area turf from now on...Steve and Jan Bachman!
