I agree with most of these points. I like the bright light when you read at night. It is good for a light travel device that has books, music, photos plus email and internet capability. Would not trade it! Nope!
Being much happier with my iPad than I ever imagined, I thought I would write a review so others would know what a great tool that it was.
I take out my iPad and log into activerain and guess what, I could not get it to work. I reset everything, tried a different browser and again, can't get the iPad to write in this very space. I go to my friend, google, and find out that apple has not found a way or has chosen not to allow the iPad to use form spaces that are "contenteditable"! So therefore I am using my much less expensive Asus NetBook to wrote this.
Is the iPad the perfect replacement for cluncky notebooks or even netbooks? Not even close. Is it a great tool for an agent? I think it is for these reasons.
Great web access even though you need to download another browser to get some sites to not redirect to the mobile version of the site. I bought the basic ipad w/o 3g and use the tethering from my htc Evo for internet.
Great email app. Once set up the only real downside to the email app is that while your are writing an email you can't go back and look at other email, or even the email that you are replying to. That said it is quick and easy to use.
I have wanted a kindle since they came out. I read at least a book a week and really thought that would be cool. I have used one a few times and the iPad seems as good or better than some of the other readers. What a great and LIGHT way to keep your books with you while you are on the go. I always have a book incase I have to wait in line or wait for a client. Now, I have my book and email all in one light package.
Battery life seems good so far. The iPad will not charge well in the car through a regular usb charger nor while plugged into a computer, unless you have usb 3.0. I have yet to have issues with it not lasting at least a day. Sheila and I brought them to the RE/MAX of Texas Broker/Owner Retreat and both of ours lasted all day, with lots of juice to spare on a single charge. My EVO however, when through 3 batteries supplying our internet connection.
I got the bluetooth keyboard and for the mos t part have been happy typing on the screen. I can type over 100 words/min, and although slower on the iPad, I am getting faster. I am not sure I would get the keyboard next time.
It is a great way stay connected and bring information with you. Email is much easier than on a phone and much faster. Honestly it is a great fun toy also!
The other pros and cons are well documented and many of them will be fixed next month with the 4.0 upgrade. Who knows if Apple and Flash will ever meet. I don't know why i???? users still complain that there is not flash support. There never has been Flash and if you bought and iProdoct looking for it, that seems silly. Buy a driod or even a palm pre if you have to have Flash.
In short, great tool that will get better with time.
