The NEW RE/MAX Channel: The Roku versus the XBox & Samsung BlueRay Wireless Netflix DVD Player

The NEW RE/MAX Channel: The Roku versus the XBox and Samsung BlueRay Wireless Netflix DVD Player. I had to figure out ,when RE/MAX announced Monday that there is now a RE/MAX Channel that works in conjunction with the Netflix Player by Roku, if that meant would the Samsung BlueRay Wireless Netflix DVD Player also host the RE/MAX Agent Educational Channel and no it does not. Each vendor has license agreements so the XBox does not offer the  NEW RE/MAX Educational Channel nor does the Samsung BlueRay Wireless Netflix DVD Player offer the NEW RE/MAX Educational Channel. Only Roku has the license agreement to air the on demand RE/MAX thousand plus educational sessions for RE/MAX Agents for RE/MAX Univeristy.

The NEW RE/MAX Channel: The Roku versus the XBox and Samsung BlueRay Wireless Netflix DVD Player research project also meant I had to call www.Crutchfield.com ( 1-800-388-2911 ext. 3278 ...ask for Gary) to find out what you do if you already have one of these devices and need to add the Roku to get the RE/MAX Educational Designation Classes and Convention Classes on RE/MAX University . The choices are that you can purchase a unit for roughly $150.00 plus cord that is basically like a HDMI switch. Removing the cords frequently is not advised but the switch concept will work. The other options were to use the analog cords in the cord package offered for $19.99 so both units would work at the same location when there is only one HDMI slot. The reception would not be as good but this is a workaround if you want to utilize both units at the same spot. The Samsung has the BlueRay DVD feature which the Roku does not. The other option could have been to connect your laptop to a cord to the TV. Or lastly, watch the NEW RE/MAX Channel on your iphone. We need Verizon to get the iphone in Southern Maryland for this option.

The NEW RE/MAX Channel: The Roku versus the XBox and the Samsung BlueRay Wireless Netflix DVD Player was a mystery at the beginning of the day. The RE/MAX Educational Channel  on RE/MAX University is so awesome that the Roku route was my choice versus no iphone yet with Verizon and no access on the Samsung. The cord option with a laptop to the TV seems awkward and cumbersome. The switch is not a necessity so the analog route with voice and plugs seemed to be the easiest solution for now. I like the fact the Amazon on Demand is available on the Roku so thousands more show options become available than the Samsung offers. They both have Pandora. I noticed YouTube on the Samsung but Flickr on the Roku. Netflix has their own free shows offered in addition to the movie mail selections but I have not noticed the Amazon on Demand feature that Roku offers. So Amazon has me on the Kindle for books and the Roku for movies. The only thing missing is a cup of Starbucks when I flick on the Roku and they will probably figure that out, too.
