Try,try again...Day one of the Realtor Active Rain Blogging Challenge....Me and my big mouth. I had to go talk about listings on the first try of the challenge. Okay, this is a bare bones post with no listing information so I can start day one of the challenge and abide by the rules!
The highlight of my day was a few minutes ago. My Mom stopped by for a quick visit. My Golden Retriever, Riley Rover, has a neurological disability. He chose me and I chose him. There are quirks in our existence like he will NEVER go down the stairs alone when on the bedroom floor. Matter of fact, he barks until I stop what I am doing, go stand by him, put my hand on his butt, and walk down with him. Mind you, he is mouthy and all bark when he wants to head down a flight of stairs with me leading the way.
Until today. I knew my Mom was coming but I lost track of time. Riley all of a sudden started making a thunderous, galloping noise upstairs. Then he barreled down all by himself. Then he went to the door and frantically danced. About this time, as I was getting over the wonder that he had done all this by himself, alone, I remembered Mom was due any minute.
And Mom surprised whim with a new dog food to sample. However, one Southern Maryland Golden Retriever with a bossy bark and a come now attitude has just BIG TIME blown his cover. He can do those stairs!
You'll Retrieve Golden Results with Cheryl Ritchie, RE/MAX 100, for all your Southern Maryland Real Estate. P.S. Picky, wicky Riley Rover, "the give me Gravy Train or I willl bark at the food bowl" loyalist, just barreled through a brand new NEW dog food. Uh huh! He had his own "Golden Results" Day!

Glad to hear you have overcome Riley Rover's aversion to stairs and new foods all in one day! Sounds like a great day if you ask me! Personally, I don't think they would have disqualified your other blog post from the 30 day challenge, as it was a post about your busy day and not specifically a "new listing" post, but I'm sure you're saying "better safe than sorry!".
I will behave on 30 posts! It's become such a routine to include the Real Bird listing stuff that I forgot all about it. Thanks for the tip!
I love your Riley Rover story. It made me realize how much I really miss my Maggie. I need to start thinking harder about getting another golden. :0)
Cheryl-Pet stories, especially ones with pictures are always a good read. Sometimes I will dance for food too. But then they ask me to stop, not a pretty picture I guess.
Martha, I did not remember you had Goldens. My Breeder usually has a couple of batches a year. I can connect you with her. Wayne, that's funny!
Your blog made me smile.
If you want something badly enough, you can figure out a way to get it.
If your dog wants to get to the door badlyenough, he will get there on his own.
