The 43rd Maryland Seafood Festival Sept 10-12 2010 Sandy State Park has a magical component. It is called the 20th Annual Crab Soup Cook Off. If it is anything like the Chilli Cook Off at Homestead Gardens last weekend, this should be a delight.
The tickets can be purchased at the door or online. Bring a non perishable item to donate for a $2 savings! For event updates and advance ticket purchases visit www.mdseafoodfestival.com . There is music on two stages featuring Jimmie's Chicken Shack, The Reagan Years, and the Kelly Bell Band. There will be new Seafood Specialties and old favorites contributed by Phillips, Lures, Real Seafood, and the Ammapolis Seafood Market.
Event Hours are 11-9 Friday and Saturday and for Sunday, 11-6PM. When you think Maryland, you think Seafood, so what a great place to check out!
You'll Retrieve Golden Results with Cheryl Ritchie, RE/MAX 100, for all your Southern Maryland Real Estate Services. Visit www.GoldenResults.com for more information.

Cheryl, my husband and I traveled to Myrtle Beach (from MA) by car this summer - Had some great crab cakes down there and couldn't shake the taste for more - so got to MD (which we knew was know for its crab) and with some strange luck got off the highway near NorthEast MD - We were directed by someone at a local grocery store that we needed to go down the road to a crab shack in North East - We were SO pleasantly surprised by our surroundings and the DELICIOUS crab cakes that we marked MD for our next trip along the East Coast - WISH we could be at the food fesival - My mouth is watering now!!
Marcia, I could not imagine being out of the area from Maryland Crabs and Seafood for long! Stoney's in this Southern Maryland turf has "get in your car and drive here" crabcakes.
