Did you know you can go to QuickLead.Realtor.com, pull up the site, then send the site to the iPAD Home page, then drop a lead into this i.e. a Buyer or Seller that calls in and starts talking PRONTO? Like there is no time to do a million steps? Just start typing notes in the bottom and then fill in the rest when you all hang up the phone. The point is they dump into the Lead Section so you can process them afterwards. A NEW notes upgrade is coming this Summer but in the interim this will do!

I attended an Open House Today around lunch time.

It was so doggone pretty I just did not want to leave.

So I didn't.

I needed to watch a Docusign Webinar and there was not enough time to get home.

So, I pulled out my iPAD, clicked the link in the email confirmation, and found a cozy spot.

The resident Golden Retriever parked right at my side. Want to talk about feeling welcome!

I filled some plates with strawberries and grapes and chicken salad and listened away!

The view can be yours! Call for an appointment! Okay, okay, it was a hard day at work for that hour.

I watched the Osprey by the pier as he went to and from the place he called Home.

After a few minutes there, you will want to make it your home, too!

Rev up your pen and paper! Here you go! My favorite surprise tips are....

Never mind, put the pen and paper away.

You can highlight iBooks or Kindle App sections or take notes to review or email later.

You can see a long list of notifications by swiping from top to bottom. Don't panic when you cannot read them quickly enough when you turn on your iPad because you can revisit them easily.

Remember an earlier tip that you can swipe upward to see list of all open apps and bop here and there.

There is a list of free websites with free books as in free means free for thee because they are in the Public Domain. You download them to Dropbox and then bring them in to iBooks.

You can subscribe to your Google Calendar in Settings and view on iPad.

The NEW iPAD can work as a hot spot for other devices on Verizon.

You can turn on Dictation in Settings and talk rather than type your notes.

Well, it is about time to roll on over to the iPad all in one book and review that, too, for you.

According to Riley Rover I should spell that TAIL but that is his opinion.

I have listed a lot of Chesapeake Beach and North Beach MD lots lately in Southern Maryland. Matter of fact, a humdinger amount. Plus I have listed a lot of new construction homes around 250k in Prince Frederick MD.

My plan was to shoot more photos on Friday so I am then ready to start on Tour Factory, Real Bird, Mobile Real Estate ID products PLUS Active Rain Blog Posts all next week. Yep, ALL next week and cross my fingers I get this all complete!

So imagine my surprise when I got this call.

"Hi, Cheryl, it is Steve and Jan Bachman. We would like to come down to Southern Maryland Thursday or Friday and shoot a lot of videos and take a lot of photos to help you with your NEW listings so you can use and reuse them on Active Rain on all your posts and in MLS. Oh, and do you mind if Jan and I take you and yes, your Mom, too, for Dinner as in a Stoney's Crabcake?"

Okay, be nice, help pick me up off the floor so I can look composed. YES, yes, I accept, Yippee, no problem...Oui, Monsieur and Madame Bachman. Yes, Sireee!

Riley Rover, your job is to wag that Golden TAlL and thank the Bachman's big time when they get here for these unbelievable helping hands.

And if they don't watch out, I will have them buzzing with iPad tips and tricks by the time they head back home for the hour and a half or so RIDE.

P.S. I wonder if they are going to want to try some of my Mom's special Southern Maryland Iced Tea? We'll see! Meanwhile, this Golden Gal feels as LUCKY as can be! My last blog of the week? What did I learn that's sweet? Let me share!

I spent Friday with Jan and Steve Bachman of Homesbybachman.com. I learned the bewitching hour for photography is the hour before the sun goes down. We walked the Railway Trail and shot some priceless scenes to use for my Southern Maryland Real Estate Marketing Pieces.

I also learned that when you photograph a lot of stuff, you learn to appreciate the beauty of things that surround you because you develop a camera eye.

You better believe I got it after a while! I was noticing all kinds of cool stuff.

When you get one of those Active Rain offers you cannot refuse....

You've heard me complain. I have paperwork on the floor that looks like it is up to my knees.

It is a Spring Market and it has heated up. There is lots and lots for this Southern Maryland Realtor to do.

But when Jan and Steve Bachman called and said they would like to come over, take me out to eat, their treat, and then shoot video and photos of my gorgeous Southern Maryland Market Area for me to use in Marketing pieces, after I got off the floor and put the splattered paperwork back in a pile I said YES with a smile.

I know they had appointments all day yesterday but you betcha I cannot wait to see the Southern Maryland photos they doctor up with Picassa.

I am leaving a spot below to fill when I get a few of their Southern Maryland photos I am sure will THRILL.

I also cannot wait for them to come back and video film my new construction home in Prince Frederick MD. The first NEW home 250K range walking distance to the water will be completed end of next month range with more permitted lots coming.

You can only imagine the Dining Room iPad scene, too. I had Jan on one side and Steve on the other buzzing through and showing them all the stuff I do on my iPad.

Photo Memories coming soon. Yes, Riley Rover has his mug in some under the Dining Room Table shots!

Try this in your area! Team up for a day with some Active Rain Bloggers that have things you want to learn, too.

Fair warning, we ate our way through two Seafood Restaurants and walked our way through several Beaches and Boardwalks.

Not to mention I talked them in to buying the new Kindle Evernote and IPad Dummies books to load on their iPad.

Their cost? Two tables of Seafood we demolished with gusto and a few Kindle App books. My cost? Some half priced Fraps. Come on, you know I dragged them there. Memories? Priceless!

Darn, I forgot to tell them there is a shortcut on an Ipad where you can type a few letters and it types a whole sentence like the long sentence above.

Active Rain GoldenResults.com HomesbyBachman.com Mini Meetup a Blast!

Let me give you a little background info first. I went to Hokie High. Yep, Gobbler Here. So did Steve Bachman.

Along with the Va Tech Connection, there is a Severn School Connection. Yep, this Va Tech Realtor is a Severn Admiral, too, and proud to tell you.

Go figure, Jan Bachman taught Summer camp at Severn School during the same years I attended.

So, okay, for about 11 to 12 hours yesterday, from the time Steve and Jan Bachman from RE/MAX Gateway of Chantilly VA hit my Southern Maryland Porch and we sat down at the Great Room BIG table with Riley Rover snoozing at our feet, we shared and brainstormed Real Estate ideas, tech tools and systems.

What was fascinating was that with only 75 minutes between our respective Real Estate Market Areas we learned that we may as well be 750 miles away in terms of differences.

We did dueling iPads for way over an hour. You know who thought that was a favorite part of the day? Uh huh. We sat at my table and I walked them through loading ten apps I use daily. We each had an iPad so they sat on both sides of me as we cruised through the apps and I showed them this and that. I even tested a Kindle Fire for Fun.

I walked them around and showed them my rocket launch pad. We chatted about the new Apple TV and the Roku. They soaked in my entire rag doll collection interspersed among this tech gadget and that.

Then we roamed around the Bay, Beach, and Boardwalks for hours and hours. They shot photos, strolled the beach, sauntered along several Town Boardwalks, and accompanied me to my favorite Crab Cake Joint called Stoney's .

The important part? Jan got sand in her shoes and Steve got lots of photos to create his photo art.

If that was not enough, we hit another Seafood local restaurant in the adjacent local Town that had us all speechless.

In case you are wondering, I just figured out my Mother's Day gift. Mom joined us all for Crabcakes earlier yesterday but we are ALL DEFINITELY going back together to Neptunes's Seafood Pub to do that last part over and over again. Think clams, mussels, shrimp, zuchini straws and more.

We had a Southern Maryland Spring Day by the Chesapeake Bay, and hey, what a great Spring Day it was to get away and share a few ideas and tech tools and laughter along the way!

The coolest part? This was all impromptu! I got one of those calls you cannot refuse...as in..."Hey, Jan and I are coming down and taking you out to eat and sharing lots of ideas that are really , really neat." How can you beat that kind of Active Rain spirit?

I now know about the Photography Magic Hour! Hey you guys, the Cardinal is BACK!

Highlights of the Google Picasa 100 Page Kindle Book I Just Inhaled?

Highlights of the Google Picasa 100 Page Kindle Book I Just Inhaled?

I could not find a Picasa for Dummies book so I picked up a little 100 page Book and blitzed thru it the last couple of hours.

The Highlights are, off the top of my head...

This product has a Picnik like Collage Feature. You can also add print at the bottom or on the photo just like the Picnik Product.

You can tag photos. You can group photos in Virtual Allbums. You can do both so you never lose them.

You can do all kind of sharpening, lightening, cropping, resizing etc. etc.

You can burn photos to a CD. You can share them via a privately shared album.

What caught my fancy? This five star apps lets you see the Web Albums on your iPAD!

P.S. To insert this graphic on your iPad post, first take a screen shot by depressing the HOME and OFF button on the iPAD at the same time. Then open the app called Skitch. Select screenshot. Then crop. Then email to to Flickr. Use the HTML codes on the HTML side of your Active Rain post. Then paste in the code plus remember to add the word center inside this <> and then insert this /center inside the same brackets <> at the very end of the code so the photo gets centered. If you want to bold a phrase, it is the exact same steps on an iPad AR post. Just insert b in place of the word center and put it all within paragraph markers on the HTML side. See my first award winning bold sentence at the top of the post? Put garlands around it! Better yet, draw dog biscuits for Riley Rover!
